"Five years ago my students and I sort of stumbled into the world of contortion. Mostly because the majority of my students had amazing flexibility. We were already a strong acrobatic studio but the contortion was a great way to use my student's flexibilty to the fullest. Every week my students would say they invented something new and after doing some research on the various contortion websites I found out these positions were not new but also had names! However, I just wasn't sure if we were going about this contortion thing in the right way. Recently I met Betsy online and after a few months of talking back and forth I was excited to find out she would offer to come and help us out.

Betsy and her students came and did a workshop for us offering ballet and contortion. The ballet technique was great and gave us the chance to have a fresh eye on my students technique. She also taught us some new combinations and areas that we needed to work on to enhance our technique. The contortion was wonderful too. We learned a little bit more about the contortion business, proper placement for chest stand positions, and even some names for the skills we had been doing. My students enjoyed it and learned a lot! I came out of the workshop feeling revived and excited about all the new ideas, partner stunts, and techniques. Betsy treated every student like they were her own and was very patient, friendly, and open. It is rare to come across someone who is willing to share their time and talent in that way. I truly feel like she cares about my studio and students. We look forward to inviting her again in the future."
